Amos Pewter designs and hand-crafts pewter gifts and keepsakes in an open studio located on the Halifax Waterfront, in Mahone Bay, Peggy's Cove and at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport.
Our artisans began making pewter gifts and keepsakes in 1974 in the vacant boat building shop (circa 1880) that houses the Mahone Bay workshop today.
Call ahead for a free guided tour (Mahone Bay) or visit our interpretive workshops where our talented Artisans will show you how molten pewter is cast into sculptures, candle holders, jewelry, collectible ornaments and other keepsakes.

Each of us bought our favorite goods here. The design is very ingenious. Originally, I wanted to buy a small cat-shaped photo clip. But I found that dogs, monkeys, frogs and lizards of the same sequence had facial features, but cats did not. Finally, I bought a lobster claw-shaped keychain.

I had such a great experience shopping with Amos Pewter, and felt so good supporting a Canadian small business! The customer service was fantastic, I wanted boxed packaging on a product but it wasn't available on their website so I emailed them, and they were super accomodating. I got the compass rose letter opener and it is stunning, you can tell how intentionally it was crafted. I can definitely see it being a lifelong piece in my home. Hope I get to visit the actual store in Mahone Bay someday :)

Quite a pleasant surprise. Not merely a store, but a shop making the pewter items, demonstrating that process, and explaining it to interested customers. Very large collection of pewter items designed, manufactured, and sold in house. Pleasant staff.
