Founded in 1973 by Vicki Lynn Bardon to provide employment for rural women — once sold internationally at Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale's, and Holt Renfrew.
After studying design in New York and working for American Home, Bardon returned to Mahone Bay to launch the brand; she famously designed a dress for Princess Diana. Today the shop occupies a pink Victorian mansion on Main Street, with the quilts and quilting fabrics in the neighbouring barn.

I purchased 3 dresses there that I love. One of them became damaged by a purse strap on my second wearing and I wrote to S & S to ask what I should do. The store and the manufacturer sent me a replacement dress!! What fabulous custumer service.

Suttles and Seawinds in beautiful Mahone Bay is a great place to shop carrying awesome brands. Something for every person’s tastes. Excellent sales staff and very helpful if you have a problem. I had a small problem with a coat I purchased last winter and Suttles had a replacement coat within a week. Now, I call that great service. When driving along the South Shore Suttles and Seawinds is a must for one of your stops. A great shopping experience!

I want to thank the Customer Service at Shuttles & Seawinds Mahone Bay, especially Lynn, who did a fantastic job in setting right a problem I had with an item bought there this summer. The beautiful red raincoat I bought turned out to have a defect; the first time I wore it in the rain, it kept me warm and dry. However, to my horror, I discovered that red dye had run onto my clothes in the area around the pockets. I sent an em to explain the problem, with photos to back up. I received a reply from the Customer Service, and Lynn took it from there. She spent a lot of time contacting the importer, following up, reporting back, organising a replacement raincoat to be sent. As it was sent to Europe, there was duty to pay. Once again, I called on Lynn and she went to bat for me to obtain the reimbursement of the duty. That is what I call Customer Service - reliable, efficient and persistent in obtaining a replacement and reimbursement, and all done with courtesy. Five stars for Suttles & Seawinds Customer Service Mahone Bay.
