An hour southwest of Halifax

Mahone Bay is one of the easiest drives in Nova Scotia. Here's how to get here, where to park, and what's accessible.

From Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ)

Roughly 100 km. Highway 102 south to Highway 103. About one hour ten minutes.

From downtown Halifax

About 85 km via Highway 103 west, Exit 10. About one hour.

Scenic route

Highway 3 along the Lighthouse Route — slower, ocean views the whole way. Add 30 minutes.

Parking

Free street parking along Main and Edgewater. Free public lot near the Civic Marina. Arrive before 10 am or after 4 pm during festival weekends.

Accessibility

Main Street is fully sidewalked. Most shops are street-level accessible; a few heritage buildings have a single entry step. The VIC is wheelchair-accessible.
