RayPort isn’t your typical lodging – it’s a family-owned campground – but it’s the go-to for campers and RV travelers wanting to explore Mahone Bay and the South Shore. The campground is beautifully wooded and set along a river inlet. RayPort is known for its friendly seasonal community and tranquil atmosphere (no loud partying here). It’s close to Oak Island and central for day trips to Lunenburg or Chester as well.
“The campsites were large, clean, and absolutely picture perfect!!! The bathrooms were amazing – cleaner than any campground we’ve seen. The campers and staff were wonderful, kind, and respectful. It’s a great location for exploring Oak Island, Mahone Bay, and Lunenburg. We would definitely stay here again. – Google Review

Bayview Pines Country Inn

In the countryside just 5 minutes outside Mahone Bay (Indian Point area, along Oakland Road). Bayview Pines is a seaside country inn set on a scenic hilltop property that offers panoramic ocean views. The inn has 10 guest units spread across two buildings – some are traditional B&B rooms in the main house, and others are studio and two-bedroom suites in an adjacent chalet-style cottage. Many rooms have their own decks or balconies overlooking the bay and rolling pastures and woodlands. The vibe is rustic charm: think quilt-topped beds, pine furnishings, and perhaps a resident cat lazing in the sun. A continental breakfast is included for B&B rooms (and optional for suites), served in a sunny breakfast room with homemade breads and jams. The property has picnic tables, a small private pebbly beach, and even a slipway if you bring a kayak. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, often pointing guests to the nearby Dynamite Trail for hiking/biking.
“A charming seaside inn with ocean views and pastoral scenery all around. We loved having breakfast on the deck, gazing at the boats in the bay with fields and woods in the backdrop. It’s so peaceful here, and only a quick drive into town.” – Guest Review
