We visited the Mug & Anchor Pub during our stay in Mahone Bay and ended up coming back multiple times because it was just that good. Our first night, the fish and chips were absolutely out of this world. The piece of fish was ginormous, perfectly cooked, and paired with a cold draft it made for the perfect meal. The live music that night created such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It truly set the tone for our stay in Mahone Bay. On our second visit, we tried the prawn dip and wings, again with cold drafts, and everything was just as delicious. The consistency in both food and service really stood out. Our last night was a bit of a scramble. It was Sunday, pouring rain, and we realized too late that most places had closed early. Not wanting to travel in the torrential downpour, we headed back across the street to the Mug & Anchor. Although the kitchen had officially closed, Evan went out of his way to make arrangements so we could take out their haddock chowder. We brought it back to our inn, heated it up, and it was exactly what we needed. That level of kindness and effort did not go unnoticed. Evan, along with the entire staff and kitchen team, made us feel genuinely welcomed and important. It is rare to find that kind of service, and it made a lasting impression on our trip. Highly recommend for both the food and the people. Picture of what supper was going to be and a picture with Evan and us well after the restaurant was closed

First time we came, it was late and the kitchen was closed, but 3 people very kindly assisted us in finding an open place nearby. We knew we would be back because they were so friendly. 2nd time we had a lovely lunch of fish cakes and local beer on the patio. Our server Kerry (sp?) was excellent. There was a troublesome patron near us and server Carrie Anne (sp?) handled them with tremendous patience. Great food, great atmosphere, great staff 👍

I had a lemonade and the Mango Salad, awesome! My guest had chicken strips. Also said it was good. We sat on the patio. It was pretty busy even though it was 2 in the afternoon. Parking is in the back, so take the alley to the right of the building.
